For the Anemonas series, Anne-Sophie Guerinaud was inspired by the worlds below, “underground” or “underwater”, in connection with the notion of alchemy.

Coral reefs, stalactites, stalagmites... Evolving in different physical states, these elements present striking formal concordances which result from long and successive transformations. Resulting from the interaction of the elements with each other, they constitute the works of the alchemical laboratory of Nature, powerful and creative.

Echoing these complex microcosms, Anne-Sophie Guerinaud's organic sculptures revolve around the dynamics of moving bodies. They are accompanied by the notion of fusion, of hybridization, which is reinforced by the use of two earths with very contrasting properties. Also, through his creative process, the artist evokes the spiritual dimension of alchemy. The delicate and repeated gesture reflects a long and meticulous execution that could be described as meditative. The mind is connected directly to matter, the hands as the only intermediaries.

After obtaining her ceramist diploma, Anne-Sophie wanted to develop her skills and her artistic identity in a free and nomadic way. Through travel and the discovery of new cultures, Anne-Sophie nourished her creativity by drawing inspiration from her environment and using the resources that characterized it. She has had the opportunity to work for different artists, visit studios and create pieces in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the United States.

In 2019, she was the winner of the Young Ceramist Scholarship offered by the Bruckner Foundation in Carouge, which allowed her to follow a residency in 2020. Until 2023, Anne-Sophie lived between Switzerland, the United States and United and Mexico and worked on his own projects while collaborating with artisans and designers. His first solo exhibition was held in Carouge as part of the International Biennale of Contemporary Ceramics in September 2022.

Anne-Sophie's artistic universe, which also includes drawing, revolves around complex organic forms, between realism and imagination. His passion for ceramic decoration and hand modeling techniques is reflected in a complex and meticulous shaping process. The delicate and poetic work that results highlights the power of natural elements in a search for aesthetic balance.
